Although I never owned one, the Tudor Chrono used to be a favorite of mine until I recently priced a "vintage" one, circa 1987 at Tourneau Corner in Manhattan.

Cheesy is the best way I can describe the watch. Looked like a fake that sold on the street corners. What a cheap braclet. Rolex ought to be ashamed of themselves to put out such junk in comparison to their real Rolex line.

IMO, you will be trading up to a real timepiece with a SMP.
