Re: Speedmaster 3513.30.00 and 3551.20.00 Question

Hi Drew,

The Speedmaster Date 3513.13.00 is $1895 US MSRP I believe.

The Speedmaster Broad Arrow 3551.20.00 is $4495 US MSRP.

The Speedmaster Date is not a Certified Chronometer but comes with a respectable base Valjoux 7750 Chronograph movement.

In my opinion, the Broad Arrow is a much more watch. It has a F. Piquet Certified Chronometer movement (exclusive to Omega Cal 3303)with Column Wheel design and Free Sprung Balance. The column wheel is the mechanism that controls the start and stop functions of the chronograph. It's supposed to be more precise and is harder to manufacture. A Free Sprung Balance uses screws on the balance wheel to regulate the movement. This is more stable and less susceptible to shock than standard index regulation. The Broad Arrow is a couple of notches above the Speedmaster Date.

I would also take a look at the Seamaster America's Cup Chronograph. In my opinion, it represents a terrific value. At $3295 US MSRP it is $1200 Retail less than the Speedmaster Broad Arrow and is 300 meters water resistant rather than 100 meters like the Broad Arrow. It has the exact same movement as the Broad Arrow. Of the three, this is the one I would strongly consider, assuming you like the design (only comes in black).
