: I have planned to buy Omega SMP 2254.50. I have
: two questions: 1) I live in Finland. Are
: Omega list prices independent on location
: you live? E.g. is 2254.50 equally priced in
: New Yourk and in Helsinki, Finland?
The list prices are pretty much the same worldwide. When I was shopping for my SMP, I called dealers in US, Asia, EU, and the price they quoted me are pretty much the same.

: 2) If authorized dealers of Omega discount,
: say, maximum 20%, how is it possible to find
: unauthorized unused Omega watches in
: Internet discounted 35%. So where are those
: watches coming from? I don't believe those
: dealers have bought them from authorized
: dealers and are doing big losses.

I guess Omega may sell their watches to an authorized dealer for 50% of the list price, and asks them not to give discount more than 30% in order to maintain authorized dealer status. The gray market watches are indeed from authorized dealers. They whole sale the watches to some gray market dealers for a little more than their cost, and their are still room for 35% discount.

Everybody is MAKING money! Authorized dealers make more money than others as required by Omega.

I think jomashop.com gives around 35% discounts, my experience with them are positive.
