Hi,
I have the Seamaster Chrono in Titanium and love it to death. Not sure which model you have but I don't believe that you can unscrew the chrono start/stop and reset buttons. I know I can't. Use mine while diving all the time. Have operated the buttons countless times down to around 120 feet with no ill effects. Have heard from various people that you should not wear the watch while showering because it affects the seals somehow. Causes them to expand with the heat and the rapidly shrink when exposed to cold thereby potentialy allowing water to seep by, or something like that. I find it hard to take mine off also but make the exception with the shower or hot tub. Just make sure that you always keep the crown and helium valve closed snugly. Even though the directions say it will still resist water with them open, I have heard tale of them leaking and Omega will not cover that damage. Anyhow, sorry for the long-winded explanations. Hope this helps and enjoy your watch. It's an awesome one!
