Re: Dail markers faded on seamaster:common?

Its been reported on either this site or TimeZone but does not seem to be as frequent an issue as the fading of the red second hand tip.

My dealer showed me an example of this problem last year. He handed me the face of a SMP Chronograph, which had been replaced, on which all the dial markers had turned a medium tan color similar to your scan. I don't believe he was aware of the cause. In addition, the red tips on the subdial hands and the sweep hand had all faded to a cream color.

I'm not sure if the two issues are related, but since these are sports watches, the fading/color changes might be due to ultraviolet exposure.

Is your watch exposed to an extreme amount of direct sunlight? Its hard to tell from the scan, but has the second hand faded at all. If it looks more orange than red, it may have.

: Hi gang!just wanted to ask if this scan is what
: happens to the markers,or do you think this
: watch spent too much time in a shops window
: in the sun.
: Also, what are the general opinions of the
: Electric blue dial watches?
