: If it doesn't have a movement, then what are
: the hands and date display attached to? Are
: you sure it doen't have a movement? Have you
: removed the antimagnetic shield to see?
: Omega does rig up non-working versions for use
: in catalog and publicity photographs. But if
: someone came into possession of one, I would
: be highly suspicious of how. I wouldn't
: think Omega would release such pieces. So
: I'm not impressed with the odds that a real
: photo demo or prototype mule on the open
: market would be a legitimately obtained
: item.
: Before giving money to someone for this piece,
: I'd try to find out more about its origin.
: If anything sounds fishy, I'd walk away from
: such a deal.
: Unless you know the seller, it could be
: something as bogus as a broken, stolen watch
: someone is trying to get rid of. It should
: be obvious that it doesn't take a genius to
: set the time on a broken watch to something
: like 10:10 and claim it is a 'special
: non-working demo piece.'
: Don't know how cheap this peculiar piece is
: being offered to you, but you can buy the
: bracelet alone from ofrei.com for $386.
The hands are attached to the dial(riveted on) the date "8" is dummy although the dial itself is genuine, I have checked there is no movement in the case, the case has no serial number onit, although it has the correct marking on the inside of the back cover, the winder is a simple screw in affair which simply locks the dial and the backpiece in place the backpiece is a plastic shim, over this is a anti magnetic cover, the rest of the watch is as normal, I thought it was a display model from a jewellers(the seller0, maybe they have moved onto the new model ar this was just a spare, the price for the whole shabang is $200, which is well worth it as he bracelet is worth more than that, then theres the case, bevel, dial, hands back etc, i first though that this may have been attained ilegally smash and grab or the like, but i am now reasonably sure that this is legit, shouls i get it or what
