: why does the second hand always stops at 12...?
Nothing about the watch is designed to do that. They should stop randomly when they run down. But it wouldn't be coincidence -- more likely it is an odd spot on a gear that makes that a slightly higher resistance spot, so more likely a consistent place for it to stop when it is essentially out of power.
