I almost agree with everything you said yet I would like to comment on couple things. Helium
escape valve is one of them. I've found this
feature useless(at least for me) and annoying.
Certainly there're good reasons to have it. But I
wonder besides commercial divers and few enthusiasts how many Seamaster owner do saturation
dive? Omega knows well that they marketed this
watch for the masses not just for few divers. I know many Seamaster owner don't even swim with it let alone diving. Recessed valve would be a good
option.
About Omega's low grade steel..... Yes the
bracelet and clasp is very scratch prone, people
often complain about it. For me not a big deal.
I don't baby my watches and IMO scratches are sign of wear. I love my watches and I wear them,
they just don't sit in drawer.
I greatly appreciate your time and effort to this
article and sharing with us. I admire your honesty
as a biased Omegan. Guess what...you're not alone,
count me in. By the way is there anybody un-biased
WIS? I guess not.
Regards,
Ishrar
