: Omega-matic? I can't seem to find any info

It was discontinued a while ago, but is still available if you hunt hard with the internet. It was Omega's version of the Seiko auto kinetic. It is a self-winding watch, but the auto-wind mechanism is charging a capacitor (a type of battery), and the watch uses the electric power for powering the movement and powering the quartz occilator.

The big idea was you could enjoy quartz accuracy with the convenience of never replacing a battery. But obviously you have to wear it to keep it powered up. I'm not sure if there was a "manual wind" function or not. I never owned one, just handled some in stores.

It came in black and white faced versions. I've heard some say that they did not like the fact that the water resist. rating was shown on the dial as "200m / 666ft." 666 is un-cool if you're afraid of the devil or some crap like that.
