I'd like to add that I first bought a quartz SMP (Bond model). I did so at the time because I didn't want to spend the extra money for a mechanical watch. I also wanted it to be able to take a little more of a beating (since autos tend to be a little less shock-resistant).

That was this past November. A little over a week ago I purchased my second Omega. I got the AquaTerra Co-axial, which is an automatic watch. I know this has happened to a lot of people - they buy the quartz first and then end up wanting the auto. Of course there are activities that I won't take my AquaTerra on that I plan on taking my SMP on (snowboarding for example). However, the AT is now my everyday watch.

Take that how you want. There's just something really cool about owning an automatic.
