I'm on the verge of buying my first Omega watch. I feel excited about it, which I can't really say about many things I've purchased. The question I keep asking myself is...do I buy it now, or "reward" myself in 1.5 months when I officially get the promotion...ah, tough decisions.
Anyway, the two models I like most look like they're the same except for the bracelet. Which is the most recent model (i.e. not being discontinuned any time soon)? Not that it particularly matters, but I guess I have a slight bias against discontinued items.
I want to buy this watch with the serial number intact, box, paperwork, etc. But, like everyone else, I don't want to spend that much. I'm in the central NY region, about an hour away from the closest authorized dealer (in Syracuse). They don't have these models in stock, nor do they seem the type of people who give good deals.
Is there a happy medium? Should I look for a different authorized dealer with a better price and order by phone? Or should I order from a web site that does the search for the authorized dealer for you?
Thanks.
