Mainstream? I have yet to encounter another person where I live and find a Seamaster on their wrist. Why are you concerned about the level of prestige the Seamaster line has? As long as the watch makes you happy, that is all that should matter, not whether it is being sold at Costco or not. As far as being affordable? Not everyone can afford or budget their finances to make a purchase over $500 for a wristwatch. When you think masses, think Timex. To answer your question: No, the Seamaster has not lost its prestige. The Seamaster line has highly original and evolving designs and products that are not incessantly immitated and not cheaply made.
