I agree. You can shop at www.chronograph.com (I'm not affiliated with them in any way) and get some good quality Seiko watches, automatics, titanium, chronographs, etc that are very rare over in N. America. Some of the Seikos are exceptionally well made, have a certain uniqueness, and won't break the bank.
