I got my first nice watch, a heuer 1000 (pre Mansour Ojeh's TAG operation takeover) when I was 15. It was a reward of sorts. Also a result of constant begging for one. The sas part was that during my first year of college, it got destroyed. This was due to a massive bike wreck when I broke a chain during a sprint. I got no flack from my parents since I had road rash on most of my arms and legs and felt sorry as hell for destroying it. My parents felt bad enough for my pain and got me a new one. Same model but with a full tritium glow dial instead of the old black. After 16 years, I recently sold that watch, which was rare actually. I guess my parents treated me pretty well. But not as well as my wife who got a Rolex Oyster rolessor for highscool graduation. She has been wearing it now for 15 years.
