Thanks Derek for input.
But what I really meant was that the roll-over (after having read various posts) on an automatic should be instant. But in my case the old date will "creep" slowly in a period of about 10 minutes, and suddenly the new date appear very fast. I only brought up my old SMP quartz watch of mere comparison, I never intended to compare the internals of those two.
