It's marketed as leather, but it really is high quality rubber.
1) The part that passes through the deployant clasp folds underneath the other side of the strap, so it shouldn't catch anywhere.
2) Part numbers, no idea. I think they're somewhere on this site, or ask Keith, who seems to know everything about Omega.
3) I got my rubber strap from Jürgen Hauff, who can be reached at info@s-parts.de. He's in Germany, but ships almost 100% of his goods internationally.
