Re: Quartz or Chronometer... That is the question?

I think I can speak pretty well to this topic since I own BOTH a quartz and an automatic (both Omega). I first bought a quartz SMP (midsize) last November. I did so because it was a tad cheaper, it had better shock resistance, and I liked having a more accurate timepiece. I still love that watch, but I got the bug again. About a month ago or so, I purchased the AquaTerra Co-axial. I love having a mechanical watch on my wrist! It's hard to explain, but it's a lot cooler. A quartz watch is so plain to me now - I doubt I can ever go back. I was like you and was worried the "inaccuracy" of the watch would get on my nerves, but it doesn't at all. I figure if I need something down to the second like that, I need to relax anyway. I think you'll find it's not a big deal at all. The shock resistance part - well I won't take my AT snowboarding but that's just because it's a little nicer of a watch; if I had the SMP Auto, it would go along with me on all my trips.

I think that if the price isn't a big deal to you, that you should get the auto. The mere fact that you are considering it shows that you want one - so if you don't get it now, you'll get it someday - why not save yourself some money? :-)
