Re: Titanium vs. Stainless
In Response To: Re: Titanium vs. Stainless ()

: I'm wearing a Titanium
: Seamaster for the past 20 years and it looks
: exactly the same as the day I bought it.
: There is not even any discoloration or other
: crude beween each watch band module, or
: inside the pin holes.

: Titanium is well worth the extra cost because
: of it's greatly reduced weight and scratch
: resistance. Titanium will get scratched,
: just not as deeply as Steel from normal
: daily use.

: The only downside I can think of is Titanium's
: "dull" appearance, but if the
: watch is styled correctly, that should not
: be a problem.

That's all exactly what I was wanting to hear. I want the Ti for lightness AND the "dull" finish. I want less attention attracted to the watch with the places I travel.

As for small scratches, reading these threads prompted me to look at the scratches on the SM I've been wearing for 14 years for the first time ever. Sure enough, the bracelett and body are covered with small surface scratches... The only thing I ever look at is the crystal and bezel, and they're fine.

If it took me 14 years to even think to look at the cosmetic "damage" to my watch, I guess I can't claim to be too concerned about it. :-)

So Ti it is.
