The SMP Chrono is on the way out and being replaced by the America's Cup Chrono. I would say that by April '04, the SMP Chrono will be very hard to find, if not impossible.
As for changing the skeleton hands with broadswords, I would love to do it to my SMP, but that is an impossibility. You would basically be creating a watch that is not a part of Omega's current range and that, I am told, is a no-no.
No official Omega repairer will do it.
With regard to Ti versus SS, that's a personal choice. Bearing in mind that Ti is generally more expensive. That decision is entirely up to you.
Personally, I like the AC Chrono, but I'm not crazy about the words 'America's Cup' on the dial. Who knows, Omega may bring out a Chrono with the AC on the dial.
