Thanks for stating the obvious (at least to me).
I'm well aware I could get a more complicated or limited edition watch for this kind of money, but it's the styling of that Deville I enjoy most. That's why I may end up getting the Steel after all. Paying a 350% premium (2.5k vs 9k) for the Gold version is pretty outrageous.
For a while, I thought of getting a something a watch purist would enjoy, like a Blancpain Villeret Perpetual Calendar, but I discovered, I'm no watch purist. I simply know what I like.
Now that I may Settle for the Steel Deville, I don't know If I want the Grey face or the White face. Grey looks a bit nicer against all that steel, but the white is the more classic dress watch look I"m looking for.
Decisions, decisions... we should all have such problems, aye?!
