: Keith, I am looking to buy 2298.80/2599.80 (or
: maybe the steel colored bezel?)
: anyway, can you email me your contact? I have
: recieved feedback that i should buy soon...
: (my original post...)
: *************************
: (questions in order of importance)
: 1.)
: i wanted to buy the SMP chronograph for myself
: for graduation (end of april '04), but i
: heard this may be (if not already)
: discontinued in favor of the america's cup
: edition. should i buy one now? or wait until
: april?
I don't know, ask a Dealer.
: 2.)
: i also would like to replace the skeleton hands
: with the broadsword hands. can anyone tell
: me how i might do this? and how much it
: would cost?
I don't know. Ask a Dealer or Watchmaker. I'm pretty sure Omega will not condone such a procedure
: 3.)
: i'm also trying to decide between Ti and
: stainless steel: Ti: 2298.80.00
: SS: 2599.80.00
I prefer SS and it would be my choice. But the SeMPC is a fairly heavy watch, so you may want to consider Ti.
: from what i have gathered, Ti is lighter, more
: expensive, and easier to scratch.
It doesn't really scratch easier, the oxidation shows scratches, then it oxidizes over the scratches. This is how it "heals" itself.
i suppose
: i will just have to go to a store to compare
: them to see for myself.
You may want to do that. The Ti version is substantially lighter.
