Date setting on Seamaster Professional Chronometer

After 8 moves in 4 years I can't find my owner's manual and the only way that I seem to be able to set the date on my watch is to literally cycle through 24 hours of winding which is maddening. This can't be the right way can it? It seems insane that a watch of this quality wouldn't have a way to just set the date but at the first click I can wind and wind with no movement of the date. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
