Vintage OMEGA (but NO LOGO!?)

Dear All,

I have been checking this forum out for some time - along with alot of research on the net.

I am in Ecuador and bought an old rectangular omega for $20 in the market. I am trying to find someone who has a digital camers (as soon as I see a Svenska Gringo - I will nab his SonyEricsson and snap a few pics for you all).

What I am interested in is that the watch I have bought has Omega written below the 12, but does not have an Omega symbol on it. Can this be true? I have seen no other Omegas that have this. I know that you need a few snaps, but the movement number is 7,549,567 and has Omega written in old font on it. The back is clip on but is made of stainless steel and doesn't exactly match the front casing which seems a bit duller. The face has a rectangular box in the centre (not on the outside edge like I have seen on other Omegas) and the numbers are aligned (not exploding).

Is this an early fake? Why no logo?

Right...sorry to bother you - I've got a net and will catch a digital camera asap.

Regards,

Thomas Mckay.
