I have both and prefer the older style for comfort, weight and appearance. The old version links seem to scratch easier than the speedy bracelet, but my speedy is newer and has seen less wear and tear. The Speedy style is much easier to adjust also.
I would still get the older style, IMHO it helps make the watch.
