I agree, G-Shocks are amazing value for the money.
I just bought one of the better Baby-G's for my niece's Bat Mitzvah, and was amazed at all the features, styling, and rugged good looks.
I envy some of the new Casio's that actually have a paper thin LCD display inside the watch Crystal, not behind the watch face!
Think of how cool it would be to have a thin analog dress watch with a sapphire crystal that had an LCD readout for all the higher functions beyond simple time&date.
Probably the only reason European makers don't integrate this technology is because they are horology purist snobs who don't give a shyt what we actually want.
Oh, getting back to the Casio's, I learned something interesting about them. Casio sells slightly different models of the same watch to the N.American and Asian markets (they couldn't give a shyt about Europe) so I had to buy my Nieces watch in Australia to get the exact shade of "Aqua" blue she wanted. It only cost 10% more than the local mall, and the smile on a 12 year olds face... priceless.
