Firstly, thanks to everyone who replied to my previous post (which I can no longer find) - your information was very helpful.
I actually bit the bullet and did it today - I went into a few stores around town and tried on the Omega (Seamaster Pro "Bond") which I have been salivating over for the past year or two. And my God, if I loved this watch before, I'm positively obsessed with it now. Taking it off was incredibly difficult, but hopefully I should be taking one home permentnatly just before Christmas. :)
I tried on both the full and mid sized varieties, and decided that the full size was the one closest to the size of my current watch (a trusty old Casio).
Anyway, I have just a few more questions for you knowledgeable Omega-heads:
1) I live in Britain, but I am taking a vacation in Florida for two weeks in late November. As everything seems to be much cheaper Stateside, due to the stifling rates of taxation in Britain, I have been considering buying my Omega there. Can you please give me an estimate as to how much a (legit) full-size Quartz "Bond" style SMP would be (US$)?
2) If I do decide to purchase the watch in the USA, will the guaruntee/warranty still be valid when I return to merry old England?
3) Would you recommend getting the watch insured when I buy it?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
