The first appearance of the SMP on Bond's wrist was in 1995. So it has been only 8 years so far.
The choice to change the exact model watch Bond will wear is not anything that will be decided this far in advance of the next film. The decision is actually made by the costume director once the script is finalized and filming is to start soon. But I expect they will tend to keep the same watch unless there is a very specific reason to change.
Bond wore the Rolex Submariner in movies for over 25 years. So why change the Omega after only 8?
And in my opinion, the sword hands and oyster bracelet make the SMP look more ordinary -- too much like other watches on the market.
