Re: Size difference between Speedmaster and Seamas

Ok, I have both. All measurements from the front of the watch on the bezel, not the case. And they are rough because of me, not my expensive caliper (Mitutoyo digital). Putting a caliper on each I get 40.50 mm 12 to 6 and 45.6 3 to 9 including the crown on the Bond. I get 39.6 12 to 6 and 42.3 3 to 9 including the crown on the speedy. The speedy dial is actually larger at 33.5 mm vs 30.5 for the bond because the bezel is considerably larger on the bond.

The bond feels larger because it is heavier and has a pronounced bezel and heavier bracelet. The speedy may look larger because of its larger dial, but it definitely feels smaller, especially on a strap as I prefer to wear it.

Both great watches, if I had to choose only one (and I would not like to do so) I would choose the speedy.

YMMV,

Tim
