Re: new speedy bracelet ordered - now what?

: First of all, thanks to Mark Canon, who saw my
: post on this forum and emailed me with the
: name of a retailer who gave me a great
: discount on a new speedy bracelet (for my
: SMP Diver).

: The bracelet should arrive in a few days. Now
: I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the best
: way to go about having it fitted.

: I live in San Francisco, and there happens to
: be an Omega Service Center upstairs from the
: jeweler from whom I originally bought the
: watch. However, I don't think I'll get very
: timely service from the SC, and that seems
: like overkill for a bracelet fitting,
: anyway.

: As for the jeweler - well, I haven't been all
: that impressed with them, post-sale, and I'm
: not all that eager to walk in with the
: already-paid-for watch and a bracelet from
: elsewhere, wanting a fitting.

: Can I trust any local jeweler who sells Omega
: to do a good job here? Any advice on how to
: proceed? Thanks in advance.

Glad it is going well..so far.

Any auth. dealer SHOULD be able to do this, but if you are not trusting of any local jewlerer AND you are mechanically inclined, you may want to purchase a small, inexpensive device called a "screw-type" pin remover. This will let you do it yourself.
Check the other areas of this site regarding bracelets/ straps etc. for more info.
