Don't get me wrong, I love both watches and currently am wearing the 300. I just feel the speedy is slightly more special both because of history and design. I also like and use the chronograph function. I generally wear it on a strap which makes it feel light and dressier.
I also like the look of pilots' watches. My favorite watch of all (actually tied with the speedy) is my IWC Mark XV, definitely a pilots' watch.
And, I must admit, my speedy is the new moonphase version, so it has a date of sorts, though you need better eyes than mine to read it fast!
