All other things being equal, I think...
In Response To: deville vs aqua terra ()

the Aqua Terra is a much better value. By all things being equal, I mean you like the design of each equally.

The DeVille Co-Axial Chronometer on a strap is $2995 US MSRP. The 38mm (most comparable in size) Aqua Terra Co-Axial on Strap is $2395 US MSRP. The Aqua Terra also has the advantages of 150 meters water resistance rather than 100 meters, and has a Sapphire Caseback rather than the solid caseback. Same movement, same operation. $600 MSRP difference.

The DeVille Co-Axial Chronometer (except for the Chronograph) as well as the Speedmaster Broad Arrows suffer from unfortunate shifts in pricing strategy, making them significantly more expensive than similar watches Omega models.

I'm not impressed by the 2000watches.com website. First of all, they don't list the accurate retail prices on the Aqua Terras. Second of all, there prices still aren't that good. You can do better straight from an Authorized Dealer. Check your e-mail for a Dealer Referral.

: hi all,

: i am considering my first omega purchase, and
: would like to know your thoughts concerning
: the differences between the deville and the
: aqua terra with co-axial movement.

: is the aqua terra more rugged than the deville?
: more water-resistant? any other data points
: would be appreciated.

: also, i notice that "2000watches.com"
: offers what seem to be fantastic prices, but
: with "full manufacturer's
: warranty".... every other deep-discount
: internet retailer seems to operate in the
: grey market, but i wonder how 2000watches
: can offer the same prices, but with
: manufacturer's warranty.

: thanks in advance for you advice,

: -eric
