Hello,
Well, after much debate and decision making, I finally bought the Omega Seamaster Professional Chronograph I was looking at. If curious, the model is: 2598.80, and I absolutely love it. This watch is built like a tank, and I love the way it feels on my wrist. One of the biggest features of this watch is that everything is made from SOLID stainless steel. I love the weight factor. Thanks for all the information on both Omega and Rolex watches. Now for some questions.
Is it true that I can order a copy of the original test results for my particular watch? If so, do you know who I contact? What about cost?
I bought the Omega last evening [Jan 15] and I manually wound it about 40 times to get the spring tight enough for both the time and chronograph function, is this o.k., or did I over-wind it? I ran the chronograph through one complete cycle on all dials to make sure everything is working properly... you know, to "break-it-in."
Someone at another Omega dealer told me set the date with the hour hand between 2-8 only. Can you explain what he is talking about? He said not to set the date with the hour hand between 8-2. Why? Does it have something to do with the day change?
This is about it for now. I appreciate all the information you can give me, and have given in the past. Talk to you soon.
