In Response To: What is This? *PIC* ()

Unfortunately I can't post the pic directly here ( my site Host, blocks the pics, when posted off-site) However follow the link below to see a 1977 Catalogue showing your watch (page 11), - click on the page for a larger version.

The 1977 German prices are also available on that webpage.

As you can see the "oval" under the dial should have a small "Quartz" plate in it.

I'm afraid I don't know the caliber number of your watch, but I would consider sending it back to Omega in Switzerland. They'll "rebuild" it to "as good as new" status.

For prices, see the Omega website. ( prices are based on the caliber number )

Depending on where you are in the world (i.e. price & availability of good local watchmakers), this may also be a cheap alternative. It's the route I would take. ( I live in Germany )

I have seen various examples, where Omega have "salvaged" watches in much worse condition than yours.

Also worth knowing, is the fact that Omega often state that certain parts are no longer available, but when they refurbish a watch in Switzerland, they come back fitted with new said "unavailable" parts.
