My sources told me they were made in Switzerland. But I have no way to confirm this, other than asking Omega directly.

For a watch to be labeled Swiss Made, they have to have a large amount of their components made in Switzerland. Given this, the idea of major components of Omega watches being made elsewhere is not very plausible.
: are suggesting, the cost of the components

Arguing about small component prices is silly. It is not the total of the pure cost to manufacture that makes luxury products valuable. It is the superiority of design, attention to detail, and well placed perception of refinement and superiority that make a luxury product.
Just look at Rolex. They use bracelets of simpler and cheaper design and have movements that are *maybe* only slightly better than Omega's. Yet Rolex watches sell for near TWICE what a comparable Omega does.
: I might not feel I'm getting as good a value.
VALUE? If you want pure value, go buy a Timex.
If you want a fine luxury product, you pay the price. I have seen no cause to question the quality of Omega products. They are by far one of the BETTER VALUES in luxury watches compared to their competition.
