there's restoring & restoring...
In Response To: Re: watch values & misc ()

Hi Guys,

From what I've heard ( & I've not yet, but will soon), when you send a watch to Omeag Switzerland for a restoration it comes back looking like new. I don't think you will be able to tell that it has been restored.

I have never heard anything bad about an Omega Switzerland job.

I know nothing at all about your watch Curtis, but I do know a few other Omega collectors via the internet. & one in particular has a very strong interest in Chronometers.

I'll ask him about your watch.

I can however show you the following. It is from a french advert that I bought via eBay.

If you click on the pic, it will open a new browser window, containing a larger 100K version.

As far as I can see this is your watch ( on a leather strap though ). So that would suggest it was also available in France/Europe.

BTW. with my limited french I can see that ths stainless version was 630 Francs, the gold plate version 770 F & the solid gold versions... well !

A Speedmaster Pro in the same advert cost 830 Francs on a bracelet or 725 Francs on a strap.

It's a great watch Curtis, & I'm sure very collectable
