Just a note, when you said you had the 2531.80, it was implied that you had originally gotten the automatic. The model numbers for Omegas specifically tell us which model, which size, which color, which technology (quartz or automatic), and which bracelet or strap you chose. I think with the quartz version the second hand may very well had ticked inbetween the minute markers. I'm not sure if this is checked by Omega or if it could be fixed. If the second hand never landed exactly at twelve I could see how you could have a problem setting it.
