i own a seamaster 2598.80. bought it 4/99.
i really like it. some say it is huge, thick, and weighs quite a bit. i have to agree with the those descriptions. Also as you have probably heard, the bracelet does scratch very very easily and since it is large, it tends to get snaged and banged up. the illumination tends to fade quickly also; however, it is impressive. it's well made. i like the style, it looks great. it feels like a real solid watch. it keeps good time. i adjust the time once every other month when i change the date. mine is usually slow by 5 minutes. it bothered me initially because i was expecting it to be more accurate than the battery type quartz (misperception ~ price ^ = accuracy ^); however i've learned not to constantly monitor it, but admire and enjoy the timepiece. i think the ss bezel looks better compared to the blue bezel. it's a great watch, i would recommend it. my friend is looking to get one very soon.
