Hi Guys,
I've just added some Omega adverts from the 70's to my site.
here's an example...
Click on the pic for a link to my site, then scroll to the bottom for the ads.
The advert above is a beaut ! (a larger version is available on my site)
Check out the watches :-
Speemaster Pro - Not much to say.
Speedmaster MK III - Chuck has covered this pretty well. I always looked at the Black dialed MK III & thought, "it's OK", but the one pictured above looks great to me. So I studied the ones pictured on Chucks page & compared them to the one above. The Hour & Minute hands on the above watch are black, at the centre. The Minute hand on the chronometer is also black. The sub dial @ 09:00 is coloured & then I noticed the writing... This is not marked professional & again Chuck has covered that. ALL of the "non-professional" examples on Chucks page have the text "OMEGA AUTOMATIC Speedmaster MK III". This one is marked "OMEGA Speedmaster AUTOMATIC MK III". BTW the owners manual Chuck shows, has the same wording sequence. Did Omega ever make any watches like this ?
Seamaster 600 - PloProf - Notice the RED crown lock. I don't believe Omega ever sold any watches like this. So this is probably a picture of the prototype. OK. But this is a 1973 advert & the PloProf was released in 1970 !
Flightmaster 911 - Clearly showing a grey dial with black subdials.
All the Best & have a great weekend.
Steve
