Interesting. I did not know this about Hesalite. I knew scratches can be polished out, but that still means it CAN be scratched, which worries me.
My Seamaster's sapphire crystal has taken more than a few good hits over the 3 years I've had it, and it still looked brand-spankin' new. Also, I can wipe off smudges anytime with any cloth (or the end of my shirt, or whatever) without fear of scratching it. Is Hesalite really this durable?
Personally, I love the look of the Hesalite crystal more than the essentially flat surface of the sapphire, but the durability of the sapphire has made me appreciate it very much.
GT
: I went from a Seamaster Pro to a Speedmaster
: Pro and I like the Speedmaster much better.
: The Speedmaster with Hesalite crystal is
: ideal for every day wear actually.
: You don't have to worry about it at all as you
: can polish out scratches from the Hesalite
: crystal with ease and it's cheaper and
: easier to replace this crystal if need be. A
: sapphire crystal can not be polished at all.
: And to replace one is more expensive. Also
: the Hesalite crystal gives less glare and is
: more smudge resistant than sapphire.
