More than you might think, Andy
In Response To: bezel ()

More than you think, Andy. What you described is using the bezel as a minute chronometer. You can do the same thing with the hour hand to time longer events.

I often use the bexel marker as a silent alarm. I look at my watch often enough that seening the hour hand approach the marker always reminds me of appointments.

There are several ways to use this bezel to compute time zone differences. Among the simplest is upon arriving at the airport in the new time zone, use the bezel to mark the number of hours you reset your watch.

I've heard talk of a way to use a diver's bezel as a tachymeter and pulsometer, but it's probably easier to do this kind of math in your head than to figure out how to manipulate the bezel in this manner.

Having done time/distance problems in my head, though, I often use the bezel to find and mark the estimated time of arrival.

So you see, there are a lot of practical uses for divers' bezels.
