Re: new Speedmaster Pro - questions

: On the back of the 7:00 lug. Very tiny laser
: engraved eight digit number

: Some of those "rules" are
: inconsistant at times. I've spoken with my
: Authorized Dealer about this and not all the
: watches come with it. It's a hit and miss
: kind of thing. What's improtant is you have
: the Warranty Card with the Dealers name on
: it.

: As of January 2002 Omega started giving a
: 2-Year Warranty rather than one year. The
: only exception to this is models with the
: Co-Axial Escapement, which comes with a
: 3-Year Warranty. The Warranty starts on the
: day you purchase the watch, not the day it
: was made. You could buy a watch that's been
: sitting in a Dealers display for three
: years, and it would still have a two year
: warranty.

: You're Welcome

Thanks Keith.
It looks like the serial number has been buffed off. This was from an authorized dealer. I'm returning it tomorrow. We'll see what happens. Why would an authorized dealer have a watch with a buffed out serial number?
