Well, I returned the watch to the dealer today for a full refund. They acted clueless regarding the serial number and called Omega (I assume in Lancaster, PA) to inquire about it and were told that up until a year or two ago, the only serial number on the Speedmaster Pro was on the movement itself. Is that true? I doubt it because when I examined the 7 O'clock lug under 10x power, I could see that it had been buffed, while the other lugs had not. Thoughts?
I just ordered one from Keith's man and should have it in a day or two.
: After much agonizing, I finally bought a
: Speedmaster Professional. It took me awhile
: to decide between it and the Seamaster. Now
: I have a few questions.
: 1) Where is the serial number located? I can't
: find it.
: 2) My watch doesn't have the small red dot on
: the back of the case. Should it have one or
: is this not used on the Speedmaster?
: 3) Is the 2 year warranty good on any new Omega
: bought after a certain date, or is it
: dependent on when the watch was actually
: built? I have no idea how long this watch
: has been in the dealer's case.
: That's all I can think of for the moment.
: Thanks!
