For the answer to the NUMBER #1 most frequently asked question here--for details or value of a specific older Omega watch you have--go to: Tell Me About My Omega. | Learn more about How To Include Photos and HTML In Your Postings. | To contact someone with a question not relevant to other readers of the forum, please click on their email address and contact them privately. |
Omega may not tell you anything useful about your watch, even if you send them your serial number. I've tried this myself, and all they've sent me in return is:
"Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for having approached us on the web and further to your inquiry please find hereafter the requested information. For security reasons, it is not possible for us to confirm whether watch reference numbers are genuine. If your watch was bought from an authorised OMEGA retailer, then it is genuine. If it was obtained elsewhere, we cannot guarantee authenticity.
Please use the "Store Locator" section on the website to launch a search for your nearest OMEGA retailer."
Go through an authorized dealer. You'll be happier in the long run, even if you spend a few more bucks. Most independent dealers will offer very competitive prices. I've bought a new Speedmaster for about $150 more than the grey market ones go for online...
