Bad service on new watch UPDATE

I received my watch back today from Omega and they replaced the marred case back and touched up the tool marked bezel (even though the invoice says they replaced it, one of the original marks is still there). The scratches on the band weren’t touched and remain in all their infamy.

And now for the bad part. There are now marks on the watch “horns” from removing the spring loaded pins that hold the watch band on. These marks are on each and every one of the horns. Very sloppy workmanship indeed... makes me wonder how good a job is done on a movement cleaning and repair.

I just don’t get it. The service manager had to have known how picky I was in regards to what he called “handling marks” but still returned my watch with new scratches. My next step is to email my contact in Switzerland and relate my complete lack of trust with their service organization here in the US. Swatch obviously must treat their high end Omega line with the same regard as their lower end Swatch watches.

Now I’m in a total quandary: Who do I send my wife’s ladies Seamaster to when it needs a battery replacement. This whole incident has been very unpleasant and has me wondering why I spent the money on a fine piece of jewelry only to have it ruined by the people I entrusted to keep it in tip top shape.
