Don't let one person's excessive and obsessive ranting turn you off of Omega or the Seamaster.

That person is upset that his dealer would not repair for free and out of warranty a watch that they believed had been clearly abused. I'd love the hear the dealer's side of the story.

But this fool intentionally makes his wrath at that dealer into a vengence crusade to make people believe that all Omega watches are crap.

What I believe the real problem is is that that guy was under the misconception that expensive watches were indestructible. So he did not pay attention or take care of his.

It is important to remember that buying luxury watch, like buying a luxury car, gets you a more finely crafted product -- but not something that is abuse-proof. You should take MORE care of a fine watch than you would an inexpensive one.

The one thing I will fault Omega on is that they do not provide information with their watches to make sure you understand the limits of water resistance before you take you watch into water. But this info is in the zOwie FAQs on this site -- I suggest you read up on it.

In response to this guy's ranting, Ross at TimeZone's Omega Forum went on a mission to find any real Omega owners that had any problems that Omega had not satisfactorially fixed. After months of asking, they never came up with anything of any significance.

So trust us. We all own Omega watches here and are very happy with them.
