I don't think so. I say that because I have seen what my wife does with her automatic rolex. I have been with her since 92. And in all that time, she has only take the watch off once to send to Rolex for service. The watch is on her wrist 24/7. She and I have done everything with it. Shooting, biking, dirt biking, land luge, etc... Sometimes I think about what you mention as far as my seamaster and moon watch, but then I think about my wife's rolex and forget about it. Not to mention the abused submariners and speedmasters I have seen over the years being worn by guys who treat those watches like cheap g shocks. Maybe someone else will chip in on this subject.
