Ok so I know I'm opening up a can of worms here but I'm a rookie when it comes to watches, so bare with me please!!
I've been reading the forums, reading reviews and I'm still a little undecided as to which watch and brand to go for. I'm leaning towards the SMP as it just seems an awesome watch, but am also attracted to SuperOcean although it looks somewhat "cheap". Tag Heuer I believe use to be a fantastic brand but hasn't it go a little commercial? Is the quality still there?
Guess my question, as I don't know too much about Omega other than what I've read, is the only watch really in the same class as the SMP the Rolex Submariner? Is the Omega SMP a hands down winner over the other brands from a Quality, Design, Value, and Longevity prospective?
And lastly... there seems to be quite a few variations when looking at the SMP. I've been focusing on 2531.80.00.. should I be looking at others and if so why?
