Blast from past.. 1988 olympic 1/100 chrono

hi,

can anyone help me.

i've just bought the 1988 seamaster quartz 1/100 chronograph released for the Seoul olympics from the auction site we all love and cherish.
mine just has a plain clip on back with omega seamaster on it.
i've seen another with a plaque on the back stating it is a ltd edition of 1000 and the number is xxx/999.
i've emailed Omega, but as their archive dept is closed all they were able to tell me is that there were only 1000 made for the olympics.

i'm in no doubt that mine is genuine, but the question i'd like answered is...... is it a ltd ed of 1000 with a replacement caseback or was there a ltd ed made for the olympics and then others released afterwards.
i paid a very good price for it, less than 1/2 the price the marked one went for so not having the original back doesnt bother me too much.
i know that omega will be able to answer the question eventually but i'm too impatient for that.

any answers much appreciated.

regards

Graham
