I've had ny Seamaster Pro 2254.50 for 3 months now - rate it every day (I am a shipmaster - so it is nice to have one's own Chronometer - look up 'John Harrison' on a search engine for the full history) - for the first 2 months it was fairly steady at +3s a day.
It has now settled down to approx +1.5 s per day. If I leave it crown up overnight it will usually lose 0.5s. It is important to remember that the amount you wear it during the day will have an effect on its rate. Temperature also can play a part! (note there is a difference between rate and accuracy)! When I was a 'younger' Navigating Officer - before the days of GPS, if we missed a time signal we could still 'adjust' the time on the ships chronometer using its average rate. This was very important when calculating sun or star sights with a sextant. Temperature was always recorded too. With the advent of high tech nav equipment - such practices are seldom done now.
