Yes, it's a big watch, for the very reasons Derek mentioned. I love mine. I have the titanium version, which considerably reduces the weight. It still has a big, thick case though.
If you look at higher priced chronos like the AP Offshore, the SMPC isn't all that outrageous size-wise.
In all, I think the SMPC is, at least arguably, the best sports chrono on the market.
- It's a chronometer certified chrono
- It's a 300m chrono
- It's the only true divers' chrono (pushers usable underwater)
- It has one of the best upgrades to the Val 7750 movement available (if not the best)
- It has the great look of the JB Seamaster
- It has the great Seamaster Bracelet
